Made by Family For Family

When Jill and Kirk Clemmer's daughter was young, she sat in the willow tree dreaming of getting married there someday. When she got engaged in Deember 2011, her family came together with their many talents to transform the Barn into what it is today.

Jill and Kirk continue to invite couples to share in the charm of the Barn as if they were family. Join us on our turn-of-the-century dairy farm for the weekend (or more) to celebrate your love in the splendor of the outdoors.

The Wedding Package

Our wedding package includes our grounds for the whole weekend (from mid-day Friday to mid-day Sunday), which includes lodging for up to 15. That's it! No required vendors, cake cutting fees, or alcohol minimums. Just a beautiful location, a quiet patch of woods, and the total freedom to make your day your own.

For a limited time, recieve $500 off our base wedding package when you mention our ad

The Brule River Barn Advantage

Take a Stay-Cation

Those who have lived in the Great Lakes region for any period of time will recognize the magic in the phrase "heading up north." Everyone has that vacation spot that allows them to escape the hustle and bustle of the everyday and focus on what's really important: family, friends, and fun.

The Brule River Barn offers a way to bring this vacation magic to your wedding without leaving your guests behind. Only 1 hour from Duluth or 3 hours from the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, the Brule River Barn is far enough to escape everyday life and close enough to celebrate with everyone you love.

take things at your own pace

Each couple gets the Barn for a whole weekend, which means your have all the time you need to enjoy your wedding. Don't worry about leaving shoes in the hotel or arranging end-of-the-night transport. Taking the weekend at your own pace allows you to be present for all the details.

Stay with your friends and family

Lodging right on the property allows those closest to you to be with you for the whole weekend, meaning more time to make memories. Our 4-bedroom House is a true log cabin that was one of the earliest settlements on this side of the Brule, and the 1-bedroom Cottage is a couple's getaway.

no decoration required

Our property has been carefully curated to provide rustic scenes, comfortable gathering spaces, and beautiful garden views. Bring as much or as little decoration as you want (but you could honestly get away with just the table decor!).

Make your own choices

There are no required vendors at the Brule River Barn. We provide a list of local vendors we've worked with, but we leave the choices of where and how to make your day special completely up to you. Our purpose is to make your vision come to life, so just let us know what you need and we'll be there to help!

The Reviews Agree

The only downside to a wedding at the Brule River Barn is not choosing to spend more time with us!

This place is absolutely beautiful! My daughters dream was to be married under a willow and we were so fortunate to find this gem so close to home.
We stayed Thursday-Sunday and our Only mistake was not staying all week. The house accommodated the entire wedding party. It was great to have everyone in one spot.
My biggest regret ... is that we only rented the house/property for two nights. ... Everything was so much fun... so if I could do it all over again, I would like to have been on the property for several additional days. Your wedding event/weekend just flies by... and at least for me, it would have been cool to extend the event as long as possible and really soak it all in as it was such a great experience!
Because we had people traveling, we had our wedding at the barn on Memorial Day weekend. We rented the property for longer than the base wedding package and I’m so happy we did! Having all of our family stay with us in the beautiful log house was so fantastic and allowed us to really enjoy the weekend. We even got to go canoeing!
My wife fell in love with the place the minute we walked around. Jill is a wonderful person and great to work with. She has a passion for individualizing each wedding experience and cares about your experience as if you were her own son or daughter getting married. Her venue made our day was so romantic and amazing that we cannot say enough great things about Jill and The Brule River Barn.
The moment I ran across photos of the Brule River Barn during a search for venues, I fell in love. This was the only site we toured and as soon as I visited, I couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. Jill and Kirk have created a breathtaking space for every aspect of your wedding that you could imagine. ... Jill and Kirk go above and beyond in making their couples feel welcome and part of their Brule River Barn family.
I had so many compliments on the way that I decorated the barn and grounds, but those were the perks of having my wedding there—i didn’t have to do any of that! I loved being able to have a wedding with such simple decorations, because you honestly didn’t need anything to make the barn or grounds look any more stunning than it already was.
